Coatings Crosslinker Safe For FCM Use, Efsa Says

« The European Food Safety Authority’s food contact materials panel (Cef) has found the substance adipic acid dihydrazide safe for use in food contact materials (FCMs).

The compound is used as a crosslinker for coatings in inner layers of plastics laminates, which are not in direct contact with food.

According to the panel, adipic acid dihydrazide is safe for such uses, given its migration does not exceed 0.05 mg/ Kg of food. »
